HarlemWeen

Since 2011 — except when Hurricane Sandy stormed into town in 2012 — Harlem Presents has presented “HarlemWeen” — a free, family-friendly costumed festival on the plaza of the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. (Harlem) State Office Building on Halloween afternoon and evening. Each year, Harlem's Halloween Festival has grown larger!

Plan to join us on Monday, October 31st of 2022 for the next annual "HarlemWeen" celebration.

The Harlem Hoedown

In September of 2012 Harlem Presents presented the first-ever “Harlem Hoedown” — a family friendly square dance on the plaza of the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. (Harlem) State Office Building.

After a two-year hiatus, the Harlem Hoedown returned to the plaza of Harlem State Office Building on September 19th, 2015. It felt good to be back. A special thanks to New York City Councll Member Inez Dickens for helping us bring the Harlem Hoedown back. The third-ever Harlem Hoedown took place Saturday, September 17th, 2016!

The most recent Harlem Hoedown was held in the Spring of 2019. We'll be back after the pandemic!

The Harlem Opera Festival

The Harlem Opera Festival celebrates the next generation of great opera singers by presenting emerging opera singers of color (more often than not) in recital format.

The singers are sourced -- in alternating years -- from among the winners of the Harlem Opera Theater or Opera Ebony's annual vocal competitions.

The Harlem Scary Movie Festival

Saturday, October 29th, 2022 witnessed the first-ever Harlem Scary Movie Festival. The Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Mount Morris Park played host to this inaugural terrifying festival, and will continue to be home to this new festival. We'll see you on Friday, October 27th!
